Assistant Property Manager / Account Administrator - Apartment Management

This Assistant Manager supports two Property Managers and oversees the payables and receivables for two properties. Experience is required for this role with a mid-sized property management company or as an assistant manager at a large apartment community (0ver 400 units) where the primary role is tending to the financials of the property. The position is Contract, Contract to Hire allowing both you and the client to make an educated hiring decision. The company is located is the West Valley / Westlake Village Area.

Job Description

  • Process all AR and AP payments.
  • Prepare notices including but not limited to NSF letters, 3 day Notice to Pay or Quit, Balance Due Letters.
  • Follow up with residents or Property Managers consistently to collect all outstanding balances.
  • Provide vendors status of payments or clarify any billing issues.
  • Set up vendors in the method prescribed and follow up to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Set up new residents in in the property management specific system.
  • Assist current residents by providing information related to their account.
  • Oversee leasing consultants and lease apartment homes.


Required Experience

  • Current or recent experience as an Assistant Manager with a minimum of 400 apartment homes and 2 years as Assistant Manager.
  • Property management specific software required
  • Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong typing/keyboarding skills and use of 10 key required.
  • Ability to communicate professionally in both oral and written manner, using complex sentences with correct grammar (tense, punctuation, pronunciation, as well as a good vocabulary.)
  • Ability to perform basic math skills, use of decimals to compute percentiles and prorates.
  • Experienced with basic bookkeeping concepts.
  • Must be well organized and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Must maintain a high degree of accuracy in work
  • Recent fair housing training.
